Religious Education
Our religious education program uses the “Word of Life” materials presented by the Augustine Institute and Ignatius Press. The “Word of Life” program strives to catechize and evangelize by reaching both the head and the heart of students and their parents through an age-appropriate focus on:
- Salvation history, reveals God's presence and plan throughout history
- Christian anthropology, to answer questions like why are we are here?
- Heroic virtue and character formation, to find our true dignity and live with purpose
- Learning through discipleship to demonstrate how the faith matters
Religious Education classes for elementary school students and 6th graders meet most Sunday mornings at 8:50 am from mid-September through mid-May.

First Communion
Two-year preparation program
Our First Communion preparation program is two years in length. We offer enrollment into First Communion Prep Year One in as early as 1st grade. Students in 2nd grade and above will also be allowed to enroll in First Communion Year One. First Communion Prep Year Two enrollment will be offered to those students who satisfactorily complete First Communion Prep Year One. Students who were enrolled in our 2025-26 First Grade Religious Education program can enroll in either First Communion Prep Year One or First Communion Prep Year Two this coming year. All other students (regardless of grade level) will enroll in First Communion Prep Year One.
In anticipation of making their First Holy Communion, students in First Communion Year Two will also make their First Reconciliation (Confession). First Communion classes meet most Sunday mornings at 8:50 am during the school year. First Communion students, like all Catholics, are expected to attend Mass each weekend. The 8 am and 10 am Masses Sunday mornings both work well with the timing of our classes.

Confirmation
Two-year preparation program
Young adults in the 7th grade should register for our Confirmation Year One preparation program. After satisfactory completion, students will be invited to enroll in our Confirmation Year Two preparation program in the 8th grade. Students meet in person at 4:30 pm approximately twice per month on Sunday evenings for class and Mass during the school year. Additional preparation work is to be completed outside of class including online lessons on faith, acts of service, prayer, Bible reading and attending an off-site Confirmation retreat each year.
